Our team project managed Wild Worlds at Chester Zoo. We designed the festival in partnership with the zoo, bringing together artists, performers, landscape designers, academics and members of the zoo staff across various departments (science, education, horticulture and botany etc.). The process included inviting everyone to co-collaboration sessions over two days where the festival and Zoo’s objectives were outlined, attendees were shown potential spaces for their work, and were encouraged to start developing ideas and collaborations with others.
The result was a four-month festival involving 24 artists, 14 commissions/gardens, two prize winning gardens (Botanist Lab and Pheromone Zone – BLAI prize) and thousands of participants in events/workshops. In the Honey Bee garden the volunteers engaged face to face with 5900 visitors!
