Bury Light Night projection

On October 14th (6.30pm - Midnight) don't miss a chance to see a specially commissioned animation from the exciting new exhibition 'Diffusion'. The animation is created from one of the pieces from the exhibition taking the form of a breathtaking projection onto the Castle Armoury, Castle Street.

The Hamilton Project were commissioned to come up with a light artwork for Bury Light Night. This is an animated reworking of a piece by artist Daksha Patel from her Diffusion series. Having vectorised and layered the original artwork, a vibrant warm palette was selected to ensure a rich colourful projection was achieved. Special thanks go out to Daksha for allowing us to 'muck about' with her beautiful artwork!

The imagery is a mix of data about Manchester such as air quality, noise levels and the growth of the city upon biological structures and microscopic images of the internal body.

Diffusion is a new series of drawings by Daksha Patel which map Manchester and its environment. The images make connections between ourselves and the cities we create. The Diffusion exhibition can be seen in lightboxes at the Manchester Piccadilly Train Station tram platforms as well as The Cornerhouse.
