Warrington Bands 2010

Our friends at Aimhigher were once again keen to work with The Hamilton Project on the their now established music focused Warrington project, this year flying under the flag Warrington Bands 2010.

The element of the project that all the others revolved around to one extent or another was the production of a fully edited promotional video for all the local bands involved. Although the bands connected to the project all stemmed from Warrington Collegiate, with band members hailing from a variety of the colleges courses, the videos were being entirely created by pupils from surrounding schools. From interviewing the bands, to shooting all the footage and editing all aspects together to form coherent final videos, was all down the school pupils.

 Working along side the young learners The Hamilton Project setup a range of social media based marketing for the project and the excellent young Warrington based bands involved with it. Facebook fan pages were established for each of the bands, every fan page included the end product of the relevant fully edited promotional video for the band and accompanying session photography. Working with learners, small scale viral strategies were implemented to populate and generate discussion on the fan pages. A customised MySpace site for the project as a whole was also established to ensure the projects continued promotion and development.
